Sheikh Mesri's 40 MW Solar Power Plant inaugurated in Jalalabad
A major milestone in Afghanistan’s journey toward sustainable energy was celebrated with the official inauguration of a 40-megawatt solar power plant in the Sheikh Mesri area of Nangarhar Province. The event in Jalalabad brought together senior government officials, dignitaries, and representatives from partnering organizations.
Developed through a collaboration between Zularistan Ltd. and 77 Turkish Company, the project is designed to deliver reliable, clean electricity to thousands of households and industrial parks in the region. By enhancing energy access, the plant is expected to stimulate local economic development, create employment opportunities and reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.
This landmark project underscores Afghanistan’s commitment to renewable energy and marks a significant step toward a more resilient and sustainable future.
